Wooden parquet flooringis a type of coating used in flooring. Since it is a natural material, parquet flooring is used extensively in construction works.
Nowadays, in the use of forest products, instead of traditional solid wood parquet, laminate parquet and parquet types called laminated parquet are used due to environmentalist approaches and economic reasons. While installing parquet flooring, a plastic mattress is placed under the parquet in order to prevent hardness. In addition, skirting boards are added to the bottom edges to give the parquet an aesthetic appearance on the wall edges.
Laminate flooring
Laminate is the coating sheets obtained by impregnating the paper printed in the desired color and pattern in the printing house with resin. Resin impregnation is also called paper impregnation. Impregnation is the process of drying the papers impregnated with resin materials such as melamine formaldehyde and urea formaldehyde.
Laminate flooring is produced by sticking laminate coverings on 7-8 mm thick MDF, HDF or particleboard sheets, which are cheaper than quality wood. There are also those produced using adhesives with carcinogenic substances.[citation needed] The bonding process is done using adhesives under heat and pressure. The boards produced in large layers are cut to the desired dimensions, the joints are opened according to the attachment details, and they are packaged and offered for use. Laminate flooring surfaces do not require any treatment such as smoothing or polishing.
Laminate flooring is the most widely used decorative floor covering today due to its cheap prices and easy and fast application. As a floor covering, it is the best product for its price.
Due to the fact that it does not contain carcinogenic substances, laminate flooring in E1 standards can be preferred in terms of health.
Solid Parquet
It is the first type of traditional parquet used. It is made by cutting the well-dried wood of appropriate quality into thin layers and strips in thicknesses such as 16-20 mm. Hardwoods such as oak, hornbeam, ash, rosewood are used in the construction of traditional parquets for durability. Traditional hardwood is called “solid hardwood”.
In practice, solid parquet pieces with dimensions such as 16–18 mm thickness 3–13 cm width 20–100 cm length are adhered to the floor with glue, if there are gaps, the joints are also retouched with a mixture of sandpaper powder and varnish, the surface is leveled with sandpapers from coarse to fine and polished. is made ready for use.
Solid parquet requires qualified labor in practice and is more permanent, although it is expensive compared to other parquet types. In this context, solid parquet has the same life as the life of the building.
